Imagine a Venice where historic charm meets modern urban living—the vision behind the Seaboard Area Master Plan. The City of Venice and urban planning experts Dover Kohl and Partners have embarked on a transformative journey to revitalize the Seaboard area. This ambitious initiative aims to convert this locale into a thriving mixed-use neighborhood, blending residential, commercial, and recreational spaces into a harmonious urban tapestry. This redevelopment is not just a boost for the local economy but a step towards realizing a broader vision for Venice’s urban development, enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
The heart of this transformative project is the community’s voice, so the City of Venice invites you to participate in the Public Charrette from July 31 to August 2. This collaborative event is your opportunity to join forces with planning professionals and fellow citizens to brainstorm and sketch ideas that will shape the future of the Seaboard area. Scheduled daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Community Hall at City Hall, the charrette is open to all. The timing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. is especially recommended, as it features topic-driven presentations where your input can have the most impact. Don’t miss the work-in-progress presentation on August 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to see how your contributions are shaping the plan. For more information, check out the Charrette flyer and the Seaboard Master Plan webpage. Your participation is critical in bringing the vision of a revitalized Seaboard area to life, making Venice an even better place to live, work, and play.
